Any given job may be attended by one or more people. If it's a one-man job, but two of us turn up, then we'll be quite fair about the pricing and you'll only pay for the fellow doing the work, not for the guy standing around with his hands in his pockets. Sometimes two or three of us will happen to be on the van when we visit, but you won't be charged for the extra bodies on site if the work only requires one pair of hands.

Where two or more operatives turn up and all are fully engaged in the appointed task, you will be charged per person, per hour/part hour. A Qualified Supervisor is required to visit all installations to oversee and/or check the work performed by the Installation Electrician is correct and passes requisite testing, therefore for smaller jobs Rate 1 or Rate 3 will always apply as a minimum, while larger jobs may see a combination of Rates such as 3, 4 or 9 applying.

When you look at your invoice, the number of man-hours should equate to the time on site per person. As an example, a Qualified Supervisor and an Installation Electrician who have both been engaged on a job for two hours would see Rate 3 apply for the first hour and Rate 4 for the second hour.

Partner firms who operate in office hours only ever pay Rate 2 and/or Rate 9, so if you're a commercial client then contact me about becoming working buddies! Partner firms who specialise in emergency call-out or out-of-hours working can negotiate special rates.

Where bookings have not been made directly but are through third parties such as agencies, directory service or management firms, the rates charged may be higher to reflect the fees levied by such services.

The minimum charge may be levied at my discretion and may apply to any short-order call-outs where the use of tools or specialist knowledge is required to quickly diagnose a fault or to resolve a simple issue. Viewing or quoting for a job will not be charged for unless you are requesting specific design work, however any specialist faultfinding, even when undertaken with the aim of being able to produce a free quotation for remedial work, will be charged for.

If you have received an invoice and are still unclear about the rates as charged, or if you disagree with the number of hours or number of operatives as listed, then just let me know and we'll soon sort it out.

Prices are subject to change without notice as determined by the market, but work that has been booked in before any price change will be undertaken at either the previous price or the new price, whichever is lower and ensures the best value for money for you. Invoices and quotes already issued remain set at the rate that was in force on the date of issue.
